Partnering with Families

A child's success is hinged upon a collaboration between teacher and parent. Open communication is a responsibility that we at The Treehouse hold as a priority.

Environment

Early childhood education is a place for fun, imagination, and play, therefore we set-up the classroom in a way that provokes play that is meaningful. The classroom environment is considered the co-teacher. For example, students are not told to build transportation vehicles in the block area because that is the theme we are studying. However, if we put construction vehicles, stop lights, construction hats, etc...then students naturally incorporate what they have learned about through discussion, activities, and literacy in a more organic, meaningful way. We call this total integration.

Fostering Independence

Early childhood education is an opportunity for a child to develop a sense of self.  In order to take care of those around us, a student must first learn how to take care of his or herself. We promote this type of confidence by celebrating individuality and encouraging choice and responsibility.
