About The Treehouse School
Hello and welcome to the NEW Treehouse School of Portsmouth! We are a preschool educating children ages 2.9-5 years old, offering early morning and extended day programs for your convenience! Founded by Kristin Fichera, a private school educator from New York City, The Treehouse School prides itself on its progressive teaching methods. Unlike any other school in the area, we believe that there isn't just ONE approach to learning. That's why we have a hybrid philosophy.
So what does that look like?
Children learn best through imaginative play. Exploration and peer interaction lay the foundation for a successful student. However, The Treehouse also believes that a child must have direct instruction in literacy and mathematics for his or her academic future.

Kristin Fichera
Hello! My name is Kristin Fichera, owner and head teacher at the Treehouse School of Portsmouth. Opening my own preschool has always been a dream of mine. Education and teaching is my passion and I truly feel that it's a privilege to work with your children everyday! I have taught Pre-K through 2nd Grade for the past eight years and have my M.Ed from Lesley University. From progressive private schools in Boston and NYC to the honorable public schools in Massachusetts, I find my diverse experience has allowed me to develop a unique mission. To me, a Treehouse represents a pillar of strength, grounded in roots. It represents exploration and adventure...climbing to new heights and seeing the world from a different perspective. Come join me as we watch the children of Portsmouth learn, grow and have FUN!
